Cultural Revolution Figurine - Tea Lady

This Cultural Revolution statue features "Ah Ching Sao", or Auntie Ah Ching, a tea shop owner who secretively protected the Red Army soldiers from the Nationalist Army, as told by the famous Cultural Revolution Peking Opera "Sha Jia Bang". The opera portrayed the Nationalist Army being friendly to the Japanese invaders whereas the Red Army soldiers were representing the People. Auntie Ah Ching was a main character from the opera, the statue captures a pose she used to warn the Red Army soldiers when the Nationalist army came into her tea shop.
