Manchurian State Cigarette Company, Limited advertising Poster
Manchurian State - covering the three provinces of Northeast of China, inner Mongolia (now governed by the Communist China) and outer Mongolia (Now Mongolia Republic) was a separate government between 1931 and 1945. In 1931, Japan invaded China and set up a puppet government, using the last Emperor of China called the Manchurian State. This Manchurian State cigarette company was an enterprise likely set up by the Japanese during the 1930's. As evidenced on the poster, four different brands of cigarettes were advertised. Worth mentioning is that the author of this poster is cleverly named "Xi-Xin", as signed on the lower left corner, which means "cleansing heart".
